WASHINGTON AND PRISTINAActing in her capacity as Chairman of the Board of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright will visit Kosovo from July 4 thru 6. This will be Albright's first visit to Kosovo since 1999, when she played a leading role in international efforts to resolve a political and humanitarian crisis. During her visit, Dr. Albright will meet with a broad cross-section of citizens, government officials, political leaders, civil society representatives, journalists, and diplomats. "I look forward to seeing how Kosovo has grown and changed", Albright said. "I also hope to see how Kosovars are working together to make it possible for anyone of any background to live safely and freely in Kosovo "Madeleine Albright's visit comes at a critical time," said NDI President Kenneth Wollack. "It reinforces NDI's ongoing support for efforts to uphold and advance the values of democracy and tolerance that are vital to Kosovo's future."
