Ana Kovacevic Kadovic
Ana Kadovic has worked with the National Democratic Institute for the last 10 years. Since March 2011, as program manager of NDI’s regional political party development program Ms. Kadovic represented NDI with political parties, civic sector and international organizations in Montenegro, as well as in the region, when needed. She has also served as deputy director on a NDI Montenegro governance program that focused on an important aspect of democratic development, improving transparency and inclusiveness in government decision-making. Here, Ms. Kadovic contributed significantly to designing the program and served as a primary liaison with the selected ministries in implementing the program that assisted the ministries in addressing weaknesses in public outreach, internal structure and communication and policy development. During her 10 year long engagement with NDI, Ms. Kadovic worked as deputy director for the political party programs, where she focused mainly on training political officials, civil servants and state officials to strengthen internal and external communications skills, communication strategies, strategic planning, citizen outreach and team building skills. Kadovic also managed a multiparty youth program aimed at addressing specific needs of program partners and developing the democratic system in Montenegro. At the beginning of her NDI assignment, Ms. Kadovic worked on the implementation of information technology in the Parliament of Montenegro.
Ms. Kadovic is the co-author of: the Policy Development Manual, produced in May 2008 in English, a training for trainers manual, produced in 2005 and a staff manual produced for parliamentary service staff members in 2008.
During her engagement with NDI, Ms. Kadovic monitored presidential elections in Ukraine in November and December 2004, and presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan in 2005 as a STO engaged by the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO).
Ms. Kadovic was born in Nikšić and received her university degree in the English language and literature and Italian language at the Philosophy Faculty in Nikšić. She is a holder of a Certificate of Diplomacy Academy “Gavro Vuković“earned at the Law Faculty in Podgorica, Montenegro.
