Francisco Herrero
Francisco Herrero currently directs NDI’s field office and political party programs in Colombia. He was NDI’s field director in Bolivia from 2004 to 2007. He has worked for NDI since 1998, mainly in the Latin American and the Caribbean region.
From 2000 to 2002, he led NDI’s technical assistance to the Mozambican National Renovation party as part of a multiparty program. He is a computer engineer and served as a professor for the International Training Center Arístides Calvani (IFEDEC) since 1990. He has been an advisor to the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Thought and Action Foundation in Caracas; advisor to the Center for Development Studies of the Central University of Venezuela (CENDES) and the Latin American Center for Social Sciences (CLACSO); director of electoral studies for the MAILMERGE Consulting firm for elections in Panama, Ecuador and Venezuela; member of the direct marketing teams of the presidential campaigns of Eduardo Fernández and Oswaldo Alvarez Paz; advisor to the Public Services Commission of the municipal government of Chacao; information director for the comptroller of the City of Caracas; and president of Kuatro Database and Direct Marketing Firm.
Mr. Herrero has provided trainings and technical assistance to over 60 political parties in Latin America and served as a facilitator and trainer for NDI programs in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela.
