NDI Congratulates Daniel Twining on Becoming President of the International Republican Institute
NDI congratulates Daniel Twining on becoming president of the International Republican Institute. Twining, currently counselor and, previously, director of the Asia Program at the Washington D.C.-based German Marshall Fund, brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having served in the Congress, the State Department and the office of the U.S. Trade Representative. He also has taught at Georgetown University. "We in the democracy community will be fortunate to benefit from Dan's experience and expertise in his new leadership role," said NDI President Kenneth Wollack.
As IRI president, Twining will succeed Mark Green once Green is confirmed as the new administrator of the United States Agency for International Development. "While we will miss Mark as an NGO leader dedicated to advancing democracy worldwide, NDI looks forward to supporting his important efforts in leading the mission of USAID," Wollack said.
