Javiera (Javi) Alarcon is a political analyst on Latin America and security affairs. She received her MA in International Relations and Comparative Politics with a specialization in Latin American politics from the University of Maryland, College Park. She also has an advanced degree in environmental law and international relations from the University of King Juan Carlos and Georgetown University. She was a fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies.
