Disinformation in Côte d'Ivoire: Case Study 1 presents a summary of the Center for Analysis of Social Media's (CASM) findings on disinformation in Côte d'Ivoire gathered using bulk collection of politically-themed Facebook posts. The collection period was from April 1 to July 8, 2020. The case study analyzes the dominant patterns of disinformation observed during this period, including COVID-19 conspiracies, accusations of electoral fraud and gender-based insults that constitute Violence Against Women in Politics (VAW-P). This is the first of three Case Studies produced by CASM, in cooperation with local partner Ivoirian Human Rights Observatory (Observatoire Ivoirien des Droits de l'Homme - OIDH), to document and analyze disinformation before, during and after the October 2020 presidential election in Côte d'Ivoire. These studies were produced using NED funding
