Kevin Adomayakpor is NDI’s resident director in Burkina Faso. He previously served as NDI’s resident director in Cote d’Ivoire, where he spent 6 years implementing a wide range of programs including election observation, increasing citizen participation, and combatting disinformation. Adomayakpor has over 25 years of experience as a civil society organizer and program director. He has worked with West African civil society groups in Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Côte d'Ivoire, and Guinea-Bissau. Adomayakpor holds an undergraduate degree in social work and community development from Senegal, and a master’s degree in political economy and sociology from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium.

Adomayakpor has earned the reputation as a well-respected leader and manager, with an ability to implement multi-faceted international development projects in West Africa. Among other activities, he has guided a number of voter and civic education campaign initiatives that promoted youth and women voter registration and participation in local elections, implemented Preventing Violent Extremism (PVE) programs through promoting social cohesion, as well as programs focused on increasing the understanding of and resilience to the threat of online disinformation and its effects on election. Adomayakpor has also contributed towards the development of a gender quota law to increase the participation of women in politics, and organized activities fostering interreligious dialogue. Experienced in providing technical and strategic advice to program partners on a range of issues relating to democratic governance, civil society, disinformation, and social cohesion, Adomayakpor’s stewardship of the Institute’s programs in Burkina Faso will help guide, advise, and support civil society as they navigate the current transition period.
