Lebanon information Environment Report
Since 2019, dis and misinformation traffic in Lebanon has increased exponentially, affecting not only politics, but also public health and citizens' livelihoods. In collaboration with the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Skeyes Media Center conducted a study to understand the most prevalent disinformation narratives in the information space, including but not limited to: political disinformation, COVID-19 and vaccine misinformation, and election narratives. The purpose of this study, and report, is to understand and analyze how the publics’ consumption in Lebanon consume news, distributed by traditional and alternative media, with a central focus on how residents in Lebanon perceive and deal with disinformation campaigns and fake news.
