The Sudanese Network for Democratic Elections (SuNDE) has commenced civic education for community leaders in Unity State's three counties of Rubkona, Mayom and Leer, with funding from NDI.

SuNDE has so far facilitated training for local and international NGOs, the United Nations Mission in Sundan (UNMIS), community leaders, the youth and Women's League.

Twelve young Russian leaders visited Brussles from June 29 to July 3 as part of a study visit organized by the EU-Russia Centre and NDI’s Moscow office. The pariticipants, ranging from 21 to 27 years old, came from the Pskov and Karelia regions of Russia and represented a variety of organizations including political parties, youth groups and a number of NGOs.

Serbian National Assembly Members, Munir Poturak, SDP, Kenan Hajdarević, LDP, and Šerif Hamzagić, G17 plus, opened the first parliamentary constituency office in Novi Pazar on Tuesday, July 7 in Novi Pazar.

The focus of the office is to increase transparency in government and to restore a direct, two-way communication between citizens and MPs. The office will serve to strengthen the connection between citizens and Members of Parliament.

YJS to Establish Journalists Training Network with NDI | June 17, 2009

Yemeni Journalists Syndicate (YJS) launched on Tuesday a Journalists Training Network in collaboration with the NDI.

The Network is aiming to establish a training database for press cadres in all governorates of Yemen, identifying training needs and training trainers.
