North Korea

Since 2011, NDI has supported local civil society organizations in South Korea working toward the shared goal of promoting democracy and human rights in North Korea. These organizations disseminate information into and out of North Korea, conduct advocacy on North Korea’s human rights situation, and document a record of repression of a system that has denied and violated the fundamental freedoms and human rights of North Korean citizens to prepare for transitional justice.
