Al Quds Center for Political Studies – NDI's partner in Jordan for parliamentary monitoring – conducted a conference on debating a parliamentary code of conduct and amending parliament's bylaws on Jan. 12.
Al Quds Director Oraib Rantawi leads discussion on a parliamentary code of conduct and amending parliament’s bylaws.
The conference, which sought to increase legislative transparency and enhance MP accountability, was attended by former MPs, government officials and representatives from the media and civil society.
They produced a list of recommendations on amending parliamentary bylaws and drafting a code of conduct. These recommendations, which build on Al Quds's parliamentary monitoring reports, will be sent to the government and royal court.
