Electing Women Leaders

On Wednesday, June 29, 2016, GWD director Sandra Pepera spoke on a panel at The Wilson Center, entitled Electing Women Leaders.Joining her on the panel were Michelle Bekkering (IRI), Jessica Reis (Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research) and Gwen Young (Wilson Center). Resilient Cities Conference

GWD director Sandra Pepera attended the ICLEI Resilient Cities global forum in Bonn, Germany, from July 6 - 8, 2016. She participated in a session on inclusive government and presented on the topic "Gender-sensitive local governance: The missing ingredient for resilient cities."

NDI Afghanistan

Fatema Jafari, a member of the Herat Provincial Council and 2016 National Endowment for Democracy (NED) fellow, recently visited NDI's headquarters in Washington, D.C., to discuss her experience in Afghan politics.
