"'By next week, the Senate should be ready to pass the amendment. We are also working on the Electoral Act, hopefully in a week or two we should be ready with the amendment process generally,' Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu said Wednesday in Abuja when he received a delegation from the National Democratic Institute for Foreign Affairs (NDI).
"'What is key today is to have credible voter registration. That is the responsibility of INEC; ours is to provide the necessary fund and logistics. The greatest problem is to get the issue of registration of voters going, you can help them in this area but on our part, we have done all we have to do,' Ekweremadu noted."
