WASHINGTON, D.C. — The impact of technology on women and democracy will be the subject of a panel discussion including former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright and Tina Brown, editor-in-chief of The Daily Beast and Newsweek, on Wednesday, May 29, in Washington, D.C.

Swati Ramanathan, co-founder of the Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy in India, will join former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, chairman of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), at an April 24 panel of experts discussing the impact of technology on democracy and global affairs. Ramanathan created Janaagraha's two online initiatives: ipaidabribe.org, which tracks citizen reports of local corruption, and ichangemycity.org, which connects citizens in communities and empowers them to be activists for local issues of concern.

Former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, chairman of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), will lead an April 24 panel of experts to discuss how technology is changing the way democracies function, and the impact of these changes on democracy and global affairs. The event will be held at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, Calif.
