Where We Work
West Bank and Gaza
Overview
NDI opened offices in East Jerusalem and Gaza City in 1994. Since that time, the Institute has worked with Palestinian political parties, civil society organizations, and activists on advocacy, message development, and constituent outreach. NDI has also supported domestic and international election observation for national and municipal elections. Through its programs, NDI is nurturing a pipeline of Palestinian leaders who are prepared to participate in peaceful democratic, political, and electoral processes. With its leadership development and civic education programs, NDI has cultivated an alumni network of thousands of Palestinians across the West Bank and Gaza who have the desire and skills to become a part of shaping their political future, whether through elections or internal party renewal. NDI is helping a generation of reform-minded leaders prepare to address community issues, promote peaceful civic engagement and build the foundation for Palestinian’s political future.
