Hyungmo Kim

Resident Senior Program Manager Korea

Based in Seoul, South Korea, Hyungmo Kim manages NDI’s programs strengthening human rights and democracy in North Korea.

Prior to joining NDI, Hyungmo has worked for World Vision Korea for 10 years, providing strategic guidance the organization’s allocation of resources across countries, including fragile contexts such as North Korea. Hyungmo was leading the Grant Team with various projects funded by the Korean government(KOICA) as well as private sector donors, cultivating good relationships with various donors.

From 2016 to 2018, Hyungmo was posted to Ghana to manage $1.8 million three-year education project funded by KOICA. In this role, he was responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of all program activities; and the development of effective working relationships with the host government, partner agencies, diplomatic missions, national and international institutions.

Hyungmo started his career at Korea Ratings as a finance analyst evaluating project financing models for infrastructure projects, such as power plants, highways, and ports.

Hyungmo has a B.A. in Business Administration and an M.S. in Finance from Korea University, Seoul.
