With the support of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), NDI promotes the inclusion of marginalized citizens such as women and young people in the development of sustainable, human-centered regional security strategies and policies in response to violent extremism and security threats in Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. In collaboration with civil society organizations, national parliaments, and regional intergovernmental bodies, NDI supports the national centers for security studies in the three countries in developing inclusive national and regionally coordinated security strategies and in strengthening cooperation with parliamentary, and civil society stakeholders at the national and regional levels.
