National Democratic Institute Celebration for Risk-Takers for Women’s Empowerment: Madeleine Albright to Present Award to Stacey Abrams
On Tuesday, May 4th at 2:00 pm (ET), National Democratic Institute (NDI) Chairman Madeleine Albright will host a virtual celebration of the new voices of young women who are driving political change around the world.
The former Secretary of State will present the 2021 Madeleine K. Albright Award to Fair Fight Action founder and former gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams. Abrams will join a discussion moderated by Amna Nawaz of the PBS NewsHour.
NDI President Derek Mitchell will join Chairman Albright in honoring other women leaders, including Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (D-IL), who will give remarks. The event will also feature messages from young female activists working around the world to promote gender equality.
