What's New at NDI Gender, Women and Democracy (GWD)

#NotTheCost

As the #16days of activism against gender violence continues, we are continuing to collect examples and stories of violence against politically active women through our #NottheCost Incident Report Form. The campaign intends to highlight the overwhelming global prevalence of that violence. The information collected through this form will be passed by NDI to the office of the UN Special Rapporteur on Violence Against Women and Girls directly, so that it can be used to raise awareness and build the case for global action. If you have a story to tell, or know someone who does, follow the link here to our data collection form:>>

Roundtable on the International Protocol of SGBV

The GWD hosted an incredibly successful two-day roundtable last week, for which we’d like to thank all of the people who participated and contributed to an important discussion. We will be following up with a report early next year in continuing the project of creating an assessment tool.

GWD Collaboration with Huairou

In October 2016 GWD and the Huairou Commission convened a networking meeting for women mayors and grassroots leaders. Participants explored common priorities in the New Urban Agenda and role of local authorities and grassroots women in implementation, which are many. Check out more about their collaboration here:>>
