Martin Luther King III Appeals for Non-violent Resolution to the South Sudan Crisis

On April 25, 2014, Mr. Martin Luther King, III joined with the United Nations, the African Union (AU), the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), the European Union, governments and other international organizations, including the National Democratic Institute (NDI), to call for an immediate end to the conflict in South Sudan.

SSuNDE Calls on the Government to Pay Attention to Humanitarian Needs of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) within UNMISS Bases, Outside and Across the Country

It is our hope that the security of the IDPs is at the top of the agenda of both the government and rebel forces to ensure that humanitarian agencies are able to provide assistance without any obstruction or fear for their safety. The onset of the rainy season remains our major concern because it threatens the lives of IDPs. The first heavy rainfall resulted in flooding and the collapse of temporary shelters of IDPs at many camps across the nation.
