Request for Proposal (RFP) - Social Media Monitoring Tool for Global Information Integrity Research

NDI is currently seeking vendors with established systems for monitoring both known and emerging global and regional narratives on social media platforms and the broader web. NDI’s research and projects on information integrity issues are focused on social and traditional media abroad, and the Institute does not have democratic development programs in the U.S. These systems should generate insightful analyses on the dissemination of these narratives.

Statement on the Release of Wrongfully Detained Individuals in Russia

The National Democratic Institute (NDI) welcomes the release today of sixteen people unjustly imprisoned by the Russian government, including U.S. journalists Evan Gershkovich and Alsu Kurmasheva, businessman Paul Whelan, and U.S. permanent resident Vladimir Kara-Murza – an NDI Democracy Awardee (2023) and a longtime advocate for freedom in Russia. We also welcome the freedom of seven Russians wrongfully detained by their own government for peaceful civic and political activities.

Globally, youth are becoming increasingly disaffected with traditional democratic institutions and processes. Over the last decade, countries around the world have experienced a decline in young people’s formal political participation as well as a growing distrust among young people in established political processes.

As Costs of War Mount, Ukrainian Demands for Inclusive Democracy Remain Strong

National Democratic Institute (NDI) recently conducted meetings with political, civic and other partners to share its May 2024 public opinion poll, fielded in May. Since 2015, the NDI has conducted nationwide polling to assess Ukrainian public opinion on a range of topics related to its democratic trajectory, the geopolitical climate, and Ukrainians’ hopes for the future.
