NDI Fields Pre-Election Assessment Mission in Lebanon
BEIRUT, Lebanon—The National Democratic Institute (NDI) is fielding a delegation to assess preparations for Lebanon’s municipal council and mayoral elections in May.

Aspen Institute Stevens Initiative Grant: NDI will Expand Virtual Exchange Between Youth in MENA & the U.S
The Aspen Institute Stevens Initiative today announced the award of a 1-year grant to the National Democratic Institute (NDI), one of 10 new projects funded through a national competition to use virtual exchange to increase cross-cultural understanding and equip young people to participate in a global economy.

EXPECTATIONS AND REALITY: Citizens of Tunisia Express Their Views
Focus group research, conducted from October 22 to 29, 2015, targeted 144 participants from four cities across Tunisia: Gafsa, Kef, Sousse, and Greater Tunis. The research built on thirteen previous rounds of public opinion research conducted by NDI in Tunisia since March 2011.

NDI Poll: Iraq’s Road to Reconciliation - October 2015
NDI recently conducted 22 in-depth interviews with tribal, religious, community, and demonstration leaders in Iraq on the topic of political reconciliation, and a nation-wide public opinion survey. NDI’s research was conducted in partnership with Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research and funded by the U.K. Foreign Commonwealth Office.

Iraq Survey: Lack of Government Responsiveness Impacts Public Mood
Iraqis grew increasingly frustrated with poor service provision and rampant corruption, according to the findings of an NDI national survey conducted from August 12 to September 3, 2015. Citizens’ concerns about the government’s perceived lack of responsiveness to the people’s needs (58 percent saw the issue as worsening) negatively impacted public attitudes about politicians and political entities.
