It draws upon the findings of observers who deployed for the duration of the electoral cycle, meeting regularly with candidates and political parties, civil society representatives, and members of the national and regional election commissions.

The first report covering election related violence and illicit sources of campaign financing in advance of the September 6 elections was produced by the Long-Term Electoral Observation Network: More Inclusion, Less Violence, which is lead by Accion Ciudadana. The project is implemented in Guatemala in partnership with the International Republican Institute (IRI) and the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) and is funded by USAID.
