WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Democratic Institute (NDI) honored Senator Barbara Mikulski, D-MD, with its W. Averell Harriman Democracy Award for her decades of leadership advocating for democracy and the advancement of women and girls.

NDI Poll: Most Georgians Undecided About their Political Options; Optimism About Economy and Direction of Country Stronger Among Ruling Party Supporters
TBILISI – The poll released today by the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and its partner CRRC Georgia shows that most Georgians do not have a preferred political party or do not know which party they support. Only 21 percent identified Georgian Dream as the party closest to them, and 13 percent identified United National Movement (UNM).

The poll released today shows that Georgians perceive jobs, inflation and rising costs, and poverty as the most important issues.

NDI offers its heartfelt condolences to the people of Nepal after Saturday's devastating earthquake.
"Our hearts go out to the families of the more than 4,000 confirmed dead and the tens of thousands of Nepalis camped in the streets,” said NDI Chairman Madeleine K. Albright. “They are facing further aftershocks, the risk of additional building collapse, loss of power and water, and hospitals struggling to keep up with overwhelming numbers of injured.”
