Less than two percentage points separated the two frontrunners in both the October 10 general elections and the November 14 runoff elections, reflecting an even divide among Liberian citizens about which candidate and political party is best placed to address the worsening economic and security challenges in the country.

Harare, Zimbabwe – In response to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s public statements welcoming international observers to monitor the upcoming Zimbabwe elections, the International Republican Institute (IRI) and the National Democratic Institute (NDI) are deploying a joint Zimbabwe International Election Observation Mission (ZIEOM) to observe the 2018 Zimbabwe elections.

TUNIS, Tunisia — Today, the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and International Republican Institute (IRI) joint international Election Observation Mission, released its preliminary statement with findings and recommendations following Tunisia’s presidential election.

The National Democratic Institute (NDI) assembled a group of experts to form a virtual preelection assessment mission (V-PEAM) from February 7 to 18, 2022, to examine conditions for elections in Lebanon. The purpose was to assess the prevailing political environment and preparations for the upcoming 2022 elections and identify areas where change is possible to improve the integrity, transparency, and effectiveness of the elections.

Nairobi, Kenya - The International Republican Institute (IRI) and the National Democratic Institute (NDI) announce the deployment of a joint international election observation mission to Kenya. The delegation arrived at the invitation of the Government of Kenya and received accreditation from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to observe the August 9 General Elections.
