NDI Bulgaria

In Bulgaria, NDI has been working with reform-minded groups and organizations since 1990. Throughout its presence in the country, NDI has supported political parties, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders in their efforts to deliver democratic values for citizens and engage in civic and political processes. In 2023, NDI began working with local stakeholders to develop sustainable coalitions of youth, faith-based, and civic activists to combat antisemitism, anti-Muslim hatred, xenophobia, and related intolerance and discrimination while advocating for religious pluralism, mutual respect, and inclusion for all.

To successfully execute NDI’s work in Bulgaria, NDI is looking for a company to provide event management services and highly professional assistance in organizing:

  • Workshops, seminars, trainings, conferences;

  • Other meetings and events (including informal and social events for NDI partners and stakeholders, such as cultural tours, informal presentations and gatherings, etc.)

Because of the above, the company will be required to provide services for the following:

  • Accommodation: arrange hotel bookings;

  • Travel: organize transportation in and outside the country;

  • Venue identification: provision of assistance in securing conference facilities, i. e. venues, equipment (incl. presentation and interpretation), catering services, etc. in line with United States Department of State regulations for per diem;

  • Budget management: concerning NDI’s internal accounting and procurement procedures, in addition to the accounting and procurement policies required by the U.S. Department of State (policies can be provided), the successful bidder will maintain vendor invoices, negotiate fair pricing, support invoice reconciliation, and make payments on behalf of NDI, when necessary.

Depending on the format of the events, the company may be required to lead setting meetings, on-site registration, and other supporting activities to enhance the attendee experience.

All final proposals should be submitted in English via email to the attention of Katherine Hedrick, [email protected] and Daniel Mussell, [email protected] at the National Democratic Institute by 5:00 pm EST on Thursday, 1 February, 2024.
