Patrick Merloe is a strategic advisor to NDI. From 1993 to 2022 he served as NDI’s senior associate and director of electoral programs. Pat has over 40 years of experience in promoting citizen empowerment, governmental accountability and public policy advocacy. He has participated in over 190 international missions for NDI to more than 65 countries, concerning political rights, electoral integrity and democratic development.
Dr. Eva Busza is the Regional Director for Eurasia at NDI. Previous appointments include Vice President, Policy and Sector Collaboration at the Council of Ontario Universities, Vice President, Research and Programs at the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada and Director of Policy and Strategic Planning for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. She started her professional career at NDI working on global democracy and governance programs. She has over twenty years’ experience working with government, business, and civil society on a range of social, economic, and security programs globally. Ms.
Lisa Oliveri serves as the National Democratic Institute’s Director of Global Risk Management, Security, and Operations.
Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh is currently senior associate and regional director for Central and West Africa at NDI. He has organized and advised international election observation missions to Benin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
From May 25 to June 17, 2016, the Consortium for Elections and Political Process Strengthening (CEPPS) deployed an assessment team to Kinshasa to examine voter registration and election preparations. This report includes the findings of the assessment team and provides a technical analysis of the voter registration and election preparations corresponding to the time period when the team was on the ground. The ultimate goal of this assessment is to promote informed and inclusive discussion regarding election planning and timelines among electoral stakeholders.
Senator Daschle is the Founder and CEO of The Daschle Group, A Public Policy Advisory of Baker Donelson. Senator Daschle served his home state, South Dakota, in the Senate from 1987 to 2005. He is the only senator to have served twice as both Majority and Minority Leader. In addition, Senator Daschle is Chair of the Board of Directors at the Center for American Progress, Vice-Chair for the National Democratic Institute and a co-founder of the Bipartisan Policy Center.
Harriet (Hattie) Babbitt is an attorney in Washington, D.C., where she provides counsel at the intersection of law, policy and public interest.
Ms. Babbitt serves on a number of not-for-profit and for-profit boards. She is co-chair of the Global Water Challenge (GWC), serves as vice-chair of the World Resource Institute (WRI) and serves on the boards of NDI, The Water Initiative (TWI), and the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy at Georgetown University (ISD). She is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Madeleine K. Albright is a professor, author, diplomat, and businesswoman who served as the 64th Secretary of State of the United States. Dr. Albright received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, from President Barack Obama on May 29, 2012.
